Gray's Balsam for the Throat and Lungs, Contains: Tincture of Cannabis

"Cannabis indica is one of the best additions to cough mixtures that we possess, as it quiets the tickling in the throat, and yet does not constipate or depress the system as does morphine." - A Textbook of Practical Therapeutics, (1922, p. 181), by Hobart Hare.

In Thailand....[t]raditionally, hemp has been used as a sedative and to treat painful indigestion, cancer, ulcers, migraines, neuralgia, and rheumatism. A cough medicine is prepared from dried hemp chopped on a board made of the wood of the nux vomica tree (Strychnos nux-vomica). Hemp is mixed with shavings of this wood, which contains strychnine. This medicine is also made in Cambodia.
